TWO DOOR CINEMA CLUB + TED & FRANCIS

Irish indie-kids Two Door Cinema Club are re-releasing their gorgeous track 'Something Good Can Work' as third single from debut 'Tourist History'.
I absolutely fucking adored the original track last year, it was in my top 10 for 2009, so when I saw Australia's own Ted & Francis had done a remix it almost instantly made my pants feel funny. Ted & Francis really have a knack for putting a smile on my face and they also just put another remix out under their Like Woah! alias for Operator Please's single 'Logic'.

Can't get enough of this remix. . .it takes me places.

THIS WESTERN FEELING

So the actual first single to be released in the lead up to Foals' second album is 'The Orient' and it would seem 'Spanish Sahara' was only dropped for promotional purposes.
The Oxford 5 piece was one of the biggest band's to come out of 2008 so there is a lot of expectation surrounding the follow up. Both the tracks that have been released are quite different in comparison so I can only assume there will be a varied collection of songs on the album.
'Total Life Forever' (album artwork above) drops in May.

WASHED OUT

You need Washed Out in your life. His no-fi sound is going to come in very very handy tomorrow morning after tonight, I just pray there'll be a bit of sunshine to accompany it.

DELPHIC & SOME

Last night I attended the amazing Delphic show at the Prince Bandroom. Supporting the Manchester trio was the brilliant Matt Van Schie in his first Melbourne live show and on spinning duties were thee mighty Bang Gang Deejays.

LCD SOUNDSYSTEM

'Drunk Girls' is the first track to be dropped from the highly anticipated third album (still nameless) from NY's LCD Soundsystem. It's still growing on me so it's hard to say where I stand on this release, their first since 07'. I'm going to say it's probably not a strong first single as 'Daft Punk is playing at my house" or "Tribulations" were, but like I said it's still growing on me. I guess we'll see in a weeks time.

SURFER BLOOD

Straight outta West Palm Beach, Florida! Surfer Blood is a band I've been listening to lately that's got me all excited. For some fucked up reason though I havn't bought their debut 'Astro Coast' yet (numero uno on tomorrow's to-do list). They blitzed SXSW and have been selling out shows wherever they travel, I just hope they travel this way. Big fan.

IF I FEEL BETTER

Hot Chip - I Feel Better

Hot Chip | MySpace Music Videos

Here's the weird and wonderful clip for "If I Feel Better", Hot Chip's second release from their brilliant third album, 'One Life Stand'. If theres one thing I love. . it's a good film clip and Hot Chip know good film clips, wurd 2 yo muthaz!

Ze Shimmer

London's brother sister duo The Shimmer are currently recording in a fort somewhere with producer Luke Smith (Depeche Mode, Foals). Their first release is set to drop in the coming months on Hit Club, but until then check out one of the very few songs floating around at the moment.

MR. BURNS

Son to a professional heavyweight boxer, UK's Burns has just released his fourth EP 'So Many Nights' and it certainly packs a punch. He's about to drop into town to play alongside frenchman Surkin at the Prince Bandroom on April the 1st. Scrape together some cashmoney and go and see him.

SLEIGH BELLS

The weekend has landed and shit is about to get real, so to prepare, here's a lil summin summin to get you all juiced up.
Derek Miller and Alexis Krauss are Sleigh Bells. Derek used to be in a hardcore band called Poison The Well and Alexis is a school teacher, pretty whack! Their music really isn't that easy to ignore, quite diverse. Their next release, 'Treats' is out on May 11th through M.I.A's Neet Recordings.
In the meantime check out one of their older tracks 'Crown On The Ground'.
Enjoy your weekend people!

Be sure to check out the brilliant Jamie XX remix.

JAMAICA MUN!

Poney Poney are dead, long live Jamaica!
I don't know what was wrong with the original name, but the Parisian band have been reborn and are now called Jamaica. 'I Think I Like U 2' is the first track to be released under the new name and is a highly addictive pop gem! It also happens to be produced by Xavier de Rosnay (one half of Justice) aka Dustin N'Guyen.
I think I like you Jamaica.

O. CHILDREN

London-based band O. Children have just released the video for their new song 'Ruins'. It is the follow up to their amazing 2009 debut single, 'Dead Disco Dancer' and just shows the potential of this band. I'm expecting big things from these guys.

FLASH DELERIUM

I'm not going to talk about this, you all know they're back, you all know the hype that's surrounding the follow up to their ridiculously successful debut. Let's just leave it at that. .

MGMT - FLASH DELERIUM

BACK IN BUSINESS

So as you can see in my last post, Skeleton Jamboree was 'out of order' for a bit. My PC Computer blew up and my laptop crashed so systems were DOWN!
I hope nobody has killed themselves amongst all the panic and hysteria. Not to worry though, we're back in action! So let's kick this shit off again with a bit of Unique II
DAMN SON!

NIGHTCALL

BONJOUR!
Remember Kavinsky? Yeah well he's back with a new EP. 'Nightcall' is the latest offering from the french Ed banger star and features Lovefoxx of CSS on vocal and one half of Daft Punk on production. Remixes come in the form of Breakbot, Jackson & His Computer Band and also the mysterious Dustin N'Guyen (keep an eye on this guy).
Check out fellow label mate Breakbot's rendition.

EGGS

I arrived home today to find that my signed, limited edition, double LP, 'Eggs' from Danish band Oh No Ono had arrived on my doorstep. . .all the way from Denmark!
It's the band's second album and on first listen I'd say that this record might not leave the turntable for days, dare I say weeks.

Check out one of the tracks off the album below.

FOALS

It feels like an eternity since Antidotes was released back in 08' but Foals are back. With their highly anticipated second album, due for release in May, 'Spanish Sahara' is the new single and the film clip shows the new direction they've taken. I don't think the term 'math-rock' quite fits anymore.

BLUE

Primary 1 seems to be going from strength to strength, 'The Blues' features the gorgeous, Nina Persson of The Cardinals and is a big change from the recent work he's done with Riton.
This track is heroin
and I'm a junkie. .

CANBERRA

I flew up to our nation's capital on the weekend to visit my douchebag mate, and whilst I was there I happened to go see the mighty Berliner, Boys Noize, who is in the country for the Future Music Festivals. The event was held at the University of Canberra, which turned out to be a pretty amazing venue. Also on the bill were disco kings The Swiss, Sweat It Out's head honcho Ajax and also Canberra homeboys, the Aston Shuffle.
SO, in honour of such a. . .let's just say 'eventful' weekend I've posted a preview of the new Avalanche/Lemonade EP. After they first got together to release the Waves/Death Suite EP on Boys Noize Records, Erol Alkan & Boys Noize have teamed up again to bring us their new EP which this time will be released on Erol's label Phantasy Sound Records. There's rumours they'll be doing a full album together which the thought alone makes my knees quake.
